FAQs

Why is the session 50 minutes?

A therapeutic ‘hour’ is generally 50 minutes.

How do I make an appointment?

You can call, email, WhatsApp or text to book an appointment.

Where will the appointment take place?

Appointments are held in our local studio.

Do you offer Telephone or Zoom appointments?

Yes, online video calls are offered, however telephone appointments are not something we currently offer.

Can I bring someone with me for support?

It can feel daunting coming to therapy and, whilst someone may attend with you, due to the confidential nature of counselling, it wouldn’t be appropriate to have anyone else in the room. Anyone accompanying you is welcome to wait downstairs in the foyer during your appointment.

Is there somewhere to park?

Free parking is available outside of the studio - simply enter your registration number in the online system at point of check in.

Are you close to public transport?

We are located on West Gate Road in Newcastle, which has many transport links both in and out of the city.

How do I pay?

Payment is 24 hours in advance via bank transfer only.

What will happen the first time we meet?

We will sit together in the studio, I will go through an initial assessment, where I will ask you some questions about your life and what has brought you to therapy. This is to see how you feel in a room with me and give you an idea if I am the right therapist to work with you. You are welcome to stop or take a break at any time if you feel uncomfortable. You will only need to share whatever you feel comfortable with.

What if I don’t like it?

If you don’t like it, or don’t feel comfortable to work with me, be as honest as you can about how you feel, and if you want to we can explore what is happening for you. Alternatively, you can choose to end or leave at any time. Should you choose to leave, no refunds are offered.

Is all therapy the same?

Therapy and Therapists are not all the same, which is why it’s important to find someone who you feel completely comfortable to work with.
